Geenss Archenti presents us with a work rich in symbolism. In it, we see a female figure inspired by Bacila, known as the last Mexican midwife of the ancestral lineage of the Maya community of Yakhachén. At her side is the radiant image of the quetzal, a bird considered sacred and a symbol of fertility, abundance, and power. Legend has it that, prior to the Spanish conquest, the quetzal sang a beautiful song. However, when the Europeans arrived, the bird fell silent forever and would only be heard again when its land is free.
